Meet The Principal

Timothy Fairfield

I am honored to be the JHS/HS Principal at Leetonia Exempted Village Schools.  I began my teaching career working in a charter school for at-risk students before securing a position at Mahoning County Career and Technical Center and West Branch High School as a Social Studies teacher and Career Based Intervention Coordinator based at West Branch.  In 2011 I was chosen to be the assistant principal at West Branch High School.  I served in that role for four years before accepting the position of HS/JHS Principal at Bristol Local Schools in Trumbull County.  I believe the seven years I spent as Principal of Bristol High School will help me to be successful in my role at Leetonia as the two districts share many similarities.  I was proud to be part of a Blue Ribbon School designation at West Branch and honored to lead Bristol to US News and World Report’s Bronze and Silver recognition. Prior to coming to Leetonia I spent one year at Jefferson Area High School in Ashtabula County.  In that time Jefferson was rated the number one school in Ashtabula County and received Bronze PBIS recognition.

I am a resident of Austintown Ohio.  My wife Theresa works as a special education, one on one aide at Girard City Schools.  My son Jacob is a recent graduate of the University of Akron, my son Colin is a sophomore at Kent State University and my daughter Brooklyn is in the eighth grade at Girard Junior High School. We also enjoy the company of Emma, our Golden Retriever.  I am an avid Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins fan.  In my spare time I enjoy reading, spending time with my family and occasionally partaking in a game of Madden on my Xbox!

My goal as an administrator is to establish a safe and positive learning environment for our staff and students.  I believe in immersing myself in the culture of the school community and I am truly looking forward to being a part of the Leetonia Bear community!  Please do not hesitate to say hello when you see me at an athletic or school event.

Go Bears!
